The artist featured at the Art Gallery at the Museum of Clean for July is
Lauren Borgholthaus. Come by on Friday, July 3rd from 5-8pm to meet this talented painter and see her work
and enjoy the musical talents of Jared Vincent.
Lauren Borgholthaus has been producing artwork since she was old enough to grasp a pencil. She has a BA in art from ISU and has also studied under the tutelage of local artist, Elisa Shuman. Her art history minor and a recent excursion to Europe have prompted in Lauren a deep love of classic paintings, and though she has delved into a myriad of different styles in her work, she currently draws particular inspiration from the Impressionist and Post-Impressionist periods. Lauren feels that color and palette exploration are key to creating an emotional connection with scenes that might otherwise be quite ordinary. Her painterly style and rich tones help lend visual interest to the landscapes she creates of her native Idaho. Lauren hopes to engender in her viewer a renewed relationship with nature and its many-faceted beauty. She currently lives in Rexburg with her wonderful husband, adorable daughter, and broccoli-loving cat.
